Casa Jasmine

Casa Jasmine

This old house, set in the Sierra Nevada national park, was probably built over 400 years ago by descendants of the Moors and has been sympathetically restored by the owners. Situated at the top of the village on a quiet street it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some clean mountain air. From the south facing terrace one can see the sea during clear days (winter and autumn) and even the distant Rif mountains of Africa. The area is popular with walkers and birdwatchers and was made famous by writer Chris Stewart in his book Driving Over Lemons.

Eagles soar in the valley below and the occasional inquisitive goat may peer through the window. In the winter the house is heated by log burning stoves. The house stays cool in summer as it is built into the side of the mountain. Skylights throughout ensure a light and airy feel and mountain spring water comes out of the taps. There is also a large store room which could be converted into further accommodation. The popular Andalucian village of Pampaneira affords several decent restaurants and bars. In addition it is easy to take trips to the beach or, in winter, the Sierra Nevada ski resort.

The house has been successfully let to holidaymakers for the last three years.

Casa Jasmine is for sale and offers will be accepted above 125,000 euros
